Webquests are an online lesson format that are based on inquiry. They are created as "quests" for students to find certain information from off the web. They are designed to encourage higher order thinking in learners, and requires them to think critically and brainstorm and analyze facts and data, not simply retrieve facts off of the internet. The quests are controlled by the teachers, who provide the links and hints, and promote the USE of information, not just the acquisition.
